The subdelegate reaffirms the collaboration of the Government with the City of Monforte for the best development of the Patron Saint Festivities
The Deputy Delegate of the Government in Lugo, Isabel Rodríguez, and the Mayor of Monforte de Lemos, José Tomé, co-chaired the Local Security Board on the occasion of the Patron Saint Festivities of the city that will be held from August 11 to 16 . Isabel Rodríguez said that there will be a permanent presence of the Security Forces for the prevention, control and security of the neighbors, as well as the numerous visitors who arrive in Monforte in those days, with the aim of achieving the best development of these popular festivities, highlighting the magnificent result that this institutional collaboration represented in the celebrations of past editions.
With respect to the device that will be implemented, the subdelegate detailed that a coordinated plan was developed, in collaboration with the Local Police, which aims to ensure the tranquility of citizens, guarantee public order and be able to give a quick and efficient response in the event of any incident. The meeting was attended by commanders of the National Police in the region, as well as those responsible for the Local Police, who will work together.
Likewise, the representative of the Executive in the province took the opportunity to call for citizen collaboration so that the summer season runs as normally as possible. “Ribeira Sacra and, specifically, Monforte receive thousands of tourists during the summer who come to enjoy the scenic, gastronomic, patrimonial and cultural wealth of this area of the south of the province, so we must be prepared, focusing on security”.
Finally, Isabel Rodríguez also reported the decrease in the number of crimes in the municipality, since the last Local Security Board held in July last year, thanks to the work done by the National and Local Police.
