Ourense, March 23, 2023.- The subdelegation of the Government of Ourense opened its doors this morning in a guided tour framed within the program of activities of the Open Administration Week that is celebrated throughout the week and whose objective is to get the citizens the General Administration of the State and know in a practical and pleasant way, the services it provides.
The visit to the former headquarters of the Civil Government was presided over by the subdelegate of the Government, Emilio González Afonso stressed the importance of “making visible the activity of the subdelegation in Ourense as an institution that represents the Government in the province and that it is known that it is an institution open to all the demands of the citizens both in telecommunications, roads and foreigners competences, as well as the defense of citizen security with absolute transparency”.
During the visit in which not only the Ourensans and Ourensans who requested assistance participated, but also representatives of the neighborhood associations of the city of Ourense - Federation Miño and Limiar - as well as different social entities including the Red Cross and the Food Bank, the participants were able to know, accompanied by the Secretary General of the subdelegation, Manuel Arias, the exhibition of historical maps of the National Geographic Institute that is taking place throughout this week at the entrance of the building. This exhibition also serves to make visible the point of sale of maps of the institute that, in the province of Ourense, is framed within the dependencies of the official registry of the subdelegation. In it, both the sale of topographic and political maps and different material related to it are carried out.
In addition, throughout the tour of the official offices of the institution each of the heads of services of the different departments explained to the attendees the functions they perform and the administrative procedures they manage with the citizens. Among the personnel who intervened were the head of the Personnel Service, Juan Félix Ríos; the head of the Administrative Infractions Section, Carlos Sánchez; the head of the Information and Registration Section, Patricia Ribo; the head of the Labor and Innmigration Unit, María del Mar Martínez; the head of the Aliens Office, Josefina Rodríguez; the national qualified, Carmen Prol; the head of the Communications and Informatics Section, Carmen Lodos; the head of the Territorial Administration, José Prado María.
This meeting ended with a training by the provincial head of Telecommunications, Enrique Sanmartín, who explained to them the work that is carried out daily within the unit providing coverage and access to the network connection of both the administration and the citizenry to be able to communicate.
Open Administration Week
Open Gov Week is an initiative promoted worldwide by the Open Gov Week and organized in Spain by the General Subdirectorate of Open Government of the Ministry of Finance and Public Function.
The objective of this initiative is to bring Public Administrations closer to the citizens, based on the principles of Open Government: transparency, accountability, citizen participation, public integrity and collaboration. With these actions, the Government wants the citizens to know closely the functioning of its public institutions.
