The DGT forecasts more than one and a half million trips in Extremadura during the summer
The first Special Summer Operation begins tomorrow, June 28 and ends on Monday, July 1; during this period 97,727 movements are expected, 58,636 in the province of Badajoz and 39,091 in the province of Cáceres.
The second Special Operation will take place during the month of July where a total of 804,372 displacements are planned in Extremadura, being 482,623 in the province of Badajoz and 321,749 in the province of Cáceres.
The last Special Operation will take place in August, from Thursday 1 to Saturday, August 31, with approximately 744,189 movements in the region, of which 446,513 belong to the province of Badajoz and 297,676 to that of Cáceres.
Roads with higher traffic intensity
In the province of Badajoz the roads with the highest traffic intensity are A-5, A-66 and N-430. Likewise, in the province of Cáceres these roads belong to the A-5, A-66 and EX-A1.
It should be noted that in the province of Cáceres there are works in the execution phase on some of its roads, such as on the A-66 at the height of Baños de Montemayor (pk 425,000 to 438,900), in Cañaveral (pk 508,000 to 479,000), in the EX -A1 Malpartida de Plasencia (pk 35,920 to 36,830), in Cabezuela del Valle N-110 (pk 370,500 to 373,000) and finally, in the N-521 Malpartida de Cáceres (pk 55,000 to 57,000).
Road safety tips
It is advised that the duct is rested, making use of safety systems, that it does not consume substances incompatible with driving, not using mobile phone, GPS or any other type of distraction, hydrated and making breaks every two hours or 200 kilometers.
Passengers should make use of the safety systems, belt/SRI. Pets in their carrier or where they do not cause distractions to the driver. Special attention to elderly people, children and animals.
For the vehicle, keep checking the levels and pressure of the tires, also check the status of battery, brakes, steering, suspension…
As for the circulation, maintain the safety distance, use of flashers, adequate speed and not higher than the limit of the track, without haste.
