The delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the mayor of Riba-roja, Robert Raga, has visited the industrial estate of the town that has been affected by the rainy episode this weekend.
Bernabé has stated that the works to reduce the risks of flooding on the Ramblas del Pozalet, which usually overflows in the Polygon of Riba-roja, and La Saleta will begin in January 2026. These actions will encourage the Pozalet ravine to drain into the La Saleta ravine. Here, as the delegate said, “two rolling ponds will be made to alleviate the situation and avoid flooding.”
In November, the government tendered for 3.8 million euros to draft ten construction projects to reduce the risk of flooding, including the Pozalet-Saleta and Poyo streets.
The works in the ravines of Pozalet-Saleta are secondary actions “of a great work that has a budget of 90 million euros” and that will mean the diversion of the waters of the ravine of La Saleta its passage through Aldaia.
On the episode of heavy rain, the delegate confirmed that “the night has been quiet as the rain has been decreasing.” In the affected areas, especially in the Ribera Alta, “water levels begin to drop in ravines and promenades” and “the thirty-eight people of Pobla Llarga who were evacuated have returned to their homes”.
