The Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, has presented together with the Superior Chief of Police in the Valencian Community, Carlos Gajero, the new officers of the National Police in practices for the provinces of Valencia and Castellón.
In total, there are 218 members of the Basic and Executive Scale of the National Police who will carry out an internship period in the different police stations of the two provinces. In particular, 188 trainees are assigned to the commissars of the province of Valencia and to those of Castellón, 30. The Basic Scale policemen will be training for 12 months, while the Executive Scale training period will be seven months. In the province of Alicante, more than 150 police officers will be assigned to practice.
As the delegate has said, the incorporation of these police officers and inspectors in practices will strengthen the police staffs for the duration of their learning period. In addition, they will extend the planned deployment for Operation Summer that has started today and will extend until August 31 in the Valencian Community. This operation contemplates the increase of surveillance in strategic points for tourism such as stations, airports, ports, hotels, beaches, campsites and large agglomerations.
Bernabé highlighted the professionalism of the National Police that guarantees “social peace and democracy”. “Thanks to police work, the Valencian Community is – as he pointed out – a safe community”. Among the challenges faced by police forces, police forces and interns, the delegate stressed, “hate crimes and the fight against cybercrime.”
