The Delegate of the Government in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, together with the Mayor of Requena, Mario Sánchez, has inaugurated the XXVIII Exhibition of the Artisan Sausage and Quality of Requena that is celebrated again after two years closed by the pandemic.
The delegate highlighted the role of producers as “guarantors of the strength of the primary sector in the economy of the Valencian Community, through agriculture and livestock, of local meat and viniculture quality”.
Bernabé pointed out that “the Government of Spain takes care of and cares for the women and men of the agricultural and livestock farms.” In this line, it has reviewed the €660 million allocated to direct aid to cover the high production costs due to the increase in the price of fertilizers, of which the payment of €300 million has already been authorized, while maintaining the agricultural fuel bonus. In addition, to guarantee the generational change, the Government has included €200M in the strategic plan of the Common Agricultural Policy, to facilitate the incorporation of young farmers and ranchers.
Finally, the delegate congratulated the Cava de Requena, for the award of Maestro Carnicero, and Gracia Guillén, Mondonguera de Honor, who has been “the lawyer who has managed to have the right to have the name of Cava de Requena assigned to the production of this area of the DO Cava”, she said. Requena is the largest municipal term of those grouped in the DO Cava, with more than 4,500 hectares dedicated to its production.
