The provincial director of the Public Service of State Employment in Ceuta, José Simón, participated this week in a conference where the employment services of three autonomous communities (Extremadura, Valencian Community and Basque Country) and representatives of the Fundación Boda Salcedo, presented the conclusions of the BETA JOVEN project.
A programme aimed at implementing integrated action plans for vulnerable young people, with a dual mission. Train competences that improve the employability of young people, through individualized training plans, which are proposed by companies and organizations. And give the possibility to companies and organizations to incorporate and develop young talent.
The BETA JOVEN programs are implemented with financial resources derived from the European Recovery Instrument (“Next Generation EU”), through the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.
CEUTA
In Ceuta, through European funds, managed by SEPE, more than 400 micro-enterprises have been helped to facilitate their green or digital transition and 500 long-term unemployed people have been offered guidance.
Both the Workshop Schools of 2022 and the Employment Plan of third sector entities have contributed to a good number of contracts for young people, since most of the entities have benefited from the Youth Guarantee system, allowing young graduates to have their first professional experience.
In addition, in the city there are two TandEM Programs under way with Full Inclusion and Chamber of Commerce. The European-funded TandEM project is similar to the employment workshop for young people under the age of 30 who are already undergoing work-linked training.
The provincial director of SEPE in Ceuta has assured “that conferences like these allow to share enriching experiences that serve as inspiration to other CCAA and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla”.
Manuel Escudero, Spain’s ambassador to the OECD, also participated in the conference. Escudero has highlighted the essential work of the SEPE as executor of laws as a new Employment Law, whose approval and implementation is imminent. And the need to achieve flexibility for a necessary approach to potentially collaborating companies, with the SEPE Youth Guarantee system being an essential protagonist.
