Renfe program commercial simulation trips of the new trains S106
Within the preparations for the premiere of the new service
Madrid, April 29, 2024 (Renfe).
Renfe has scheduled commercial simulation trips with passengers on the new S106 trains on several routes between Madrid and Galicia and Madrid and Asturias. The company is making these trips, which emulate the commercial exploitation of a type trip, in view of the commercial commissioning on May 21 of the new trains.
Renfe will begin on that date of May the trips on AVE trains between Madrid to Oviedo and Gijón, which means the premiere of the AVE in Asturias; and the new AVE connections to Galicia, to the cities of Vigo, A Coruña, Santiago de Compostela, Pontevedra and Vilagarcía de Arousa. Commercial simulations are carried out in order to measure, simulate, practice and check all the phases of the commercial exploitation itself.
In these tests, some of them with “simulated passengers” from the railway field, all the relevant aspects in the commercial exploitation will be checked, both at the level of facilities, services, sequences and phases of the staff itself in terms of their training, training and suitability.
Simulation trips have already been made with travelers between Madrid and Gijón, with stops in Segovia, Valladolid, Palencia, León and Oviedo, and return, last week. And on the way between Madrid and Vigo and back, with stops in Zamora, Ourense, Santiago de Compostela, Vilagarcía and Pontevedra. They will also take place between Madrid and A Coruña, with stops in Zamora, Ourense and Santiago de Compostela in the coming days. As well as other traveler-free commercial simulation trips on both High Speed lines.
Renfe has already trained its driving and intervention staff on board to put the new S106 into service, although these commercial simulation trips are part of the usual process of starting a new service with all its components, to face the day to day of these trips already with passengers on board.
The route is made with the new trains of Talgo model S106 (Avril). They are trains that offer more than 500 seats. The distribution of its twelve cars is made between cars with 2+2, and 3+2 seats.
Renfe intends to draw the conclusions of these simulations in order to adjust all the aspects necessary for a trip of these characteristics, and even implement some new situation if it is advisable. In this way, the satisfactory development of the new service is ensured, which reaches the traveler with the quality, commitment and excellence of the AVE brand of Renfe.
