March 4, 2024.- The Secretary General of Vocational Training, Clara Sanz, met today with the Mayor of Segovia, José Mazarias, to analyze the feasibility of the location of the Center for Innovation and High Performance Technification of Vocational Training (CID) in the spaces of the Center for Innovation and Business Development (CIDE) of this city.
The meeting takes place to resume the work of development of the project already begun during the last legislature and that had a good part of this building for its implementation. “We have always opted for the CIDE as an ideal space to locate what will be the reference center at the national level in innovation and technification of FP. The CITE would turn Segovia into a dynamizing core of the Vocational Training system in Spain,” said Sanz.
The meeting was also attended by the General Director of Planning, Innovation and Management of Professional Training of the Ministry, Pilar Varela; and, on the part of the consistory, the first deputy mayor and councilor of Local Finance and Public Procurement, Rosalía Serrano, and the third deputy mayor and councilor of Tourism, Innovation and Digitalization and Economic Promotion, May Escobar.
The Ministry team shared the project planning of about 2,000 m2, distributed in areas designed for the installation of applied technology classrooms, spaces for collaboration with companies, as well as management and administration areas of the center. “We have already had contacts with various companies to generate the necessary infrastructures to make this ambitious high-performance center in the field of Vocational Training a reality,” explained the secretary.
For his part, José Mazarias asked the holder of Vocational Training for more information about the feasibility of the proposed project to be able to continue with the plans of the Ministry. The Mayor has also confirmed his intention to transfer part of his municipal management teams to the CIDE, in addition to other activities.
With the creation of this high-performance centre for Vocational Training, the Ministry is committed to the permanent training of VET teachers in innovation and sustainability through the transfer of knowledge and joint work with leading companies in the different productive sectors. Its purpose is to anticipate technological developments and transmit this knowledge to teachers so that they can handle the latest methodologies that strengthen the quality of training.
