Unemployment fell by 704 people in Castilla y León in February and stood at 115,380

• Currently, there are 8,712 people unemployed less than a year ago, which represents a year-on-year fall of more than 7% • By provinces, Segovia and Soria recorded the best performance after registering a fall last month of 2.67% and 2.75% • On the other hand, there is León, the only province that records an increase in unemployment, increasing by 63 people • Nationwide, unemployment fell by 7,452 people in February and stands at 2,760,408, the lowest figure since 2008 in this month

March 4, 2024.- The number of unemployed people registered in the offices of the Public Service of State Employment (SEPE) in Castilla y León at the end of February has been reduced by 704 people in relation to the month of January (-0.61%).

The total has stood at 115,380 people, 8,712 fewer than in February 2023 (-7.02%).

As for the data of Social Security affiliates in Castilla y León, 21,257 more affiliates have been registered in the last year, and it stands at 954,311 in the Community. There are 3,616 more affiliates in the last month, which means an increase of 0.38% in Castilla y León.

Unemployment by sector in Castilla y León

With respect to the month of January, unemployment fell in Services by 415 people (-0.50%), Construction by 160 people (-2.17%), Industry by 196 people (-2.12%) and in Agriculture by 74 people (-1.47%).

Unemployment increases among the previous Unemployed group by 141 people (1.22%).

Unemployment by sex and age in Castilla y León

Female unemployment stood at 68,275 women, falling by 223 (-0.33%) in relation to the month of January.

As for male unemployment, it stands at 47,105 men after falling by 481 (-1.01%).

Unemployment among young people under 25 years of age rose in February by 266 people (2.88%) compared to the previous month and stood at 9,489.

Unemployment in other autonomous communities

It rises in six autonomous communities with Aragón (667), Comunidad de Madrid (465) and Comunidad Foral de Navarra (374) at the head.

The unemployment recorded in February fell in 11 autonomous communities. The largest falls in absolute figures occur in Andalusia (-4.110) and Comunitat Valenciana (-1.552).

Recruitment in February in Castilla y León

The total number of contracts registered during the month of February has been 47,085.

18,432 employment contracts of an indefinite nature have been registered, representing 39.15% of all contracts.
