Adif awards for 2M euros the works for the suppression of the passage at the level of the Dehesa de Pedrosillo (Ávila)
Conventional width line Madrid-Hendaya
January 22, 2024.- The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility has given a new impetus to the abolition of the level crossing in Dehesa de Pedrosillo, in the municipality of Ávila, located at kilometric point 127/617 of the conventional wide railway line Madrid-Hendaya, after giving the green light to the award of the contract.
contract value
The total investment of the contract amounts to a total of 2,051,453.31 euros and has an execution time of 16 months.
The works included in the contract cover a series of actions among which the following stand out:
- Construction of a new road that includes a minimum vertical gauge upper pass of 7.46 m at the approximate kilometer point 127/449 of the Madrid-Hendaya railway line.
- The upper passage is solved by a prefabricated structure of 59.50 m in total length between sides of stirrups, defined by three vanes, having a cross section of 9 m in width, which is distributed in two roads of 3 m each, two arches of 0.60 m and two anti-vandal barriers, of 0.90 m each.
- The board is sculpted and is formed by 4 prefabricated beams in the shape of a double T.
- It incorporates measures aimed at curbing the deterioration localized by the runoff of surface waters, such as guard ditches and downcomers in the embankment.
- Vertical and horizontal signage elements will be provided, as well as containment systems at the edges of the platform of the structure to avoid falling onto the track.
- It provides for the replacement of all affected services and the incorporation of the necessary preventive and corrective measures to minimize the potential environmental impacts that could be generated by the construction and operation of the new upper passage projected.
- The closure of the existing level crossing entails the dismantling of all the field elements that make it up, as well as the provision of a perimeter barrier in each of the margins of the current level crossing that prevents access to the tracks.
This contract forms part of the actions planned by Adif for the suppression and improvement of the protection of crossings at the level of the Railway Network of General Interest in order to increase the safety conditions of the transport infrastructures, both for road and rail traffic.
These actions contribute to the achievement of different Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 3 (Health and Welfare), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities).
