December 1, 2023.- The deputy delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, visited the Artillery Academy today, accompanied by the colonel director of the center, Rafael de Felipe Barahona.
Marian Rueda has toured the facilities of the academic center, which provides training and improvement lessons for officers, non-commissioned officers and artillery troops.
The centre depends, within the organizational structure of the Spanish Army, on the Directorate of Teaching, Instruction, Training and Evaluation (DIEN), which in turn is part of the Training and Doctrine Command (MADOC) of the Spanish Army’s Force Support Unit.
It has its origins in the Royal College of Artillery which, under the direction of Count Felix Gazola, was inaugurated on May 16, 1764 in the Alcazar of Segovia, in the reign of Charles III. It is the oldest active military academy in the world.
