October 30, 2023.- The Deputy Delegate of the Government, Marian Rueda, has visited the Provincial Telecommunications Inspection Headquarters, accompanied by its head, José Antonio Flores.
The subdelegate has toured the facilities of this service, integrated in the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and whose main task is to attend to matters related to the use of the radio spectrum.
In this way, the Telecommunications Inspectorate is responsible for the technical verification of radio emissions to identify, locate and eliminate interferences, observe possible infringements, irregularities and disturbances of the radio communication systems.
Thus, it deals with complaints for interference that it collects from users, is responsible for mediating the levels of radio broadcasts and for checking the coverage of services such as television or mobile telephony.
Other activities are the processing and licensing of the special use of radio spectrum by radio amateurs; the processing of licences for private use of radio spectrum (fixed and fixed service and narrowband mobile); the study and analysis of projects for mobile telephone stations and radio subscriber loop networks, for approval; the processing of radio and television station dossiers; the licensing of broadcasters for digital terrestrial television coverage; or the prior technical inspection when necessary for the authorisation of the commissioning of mobile telephone stations, radio subscriber loop, sound broadcasting and television, as well as the granting of this authorisation.
