- The government delegate in Cantabria has participated in the award of individual and collective prizes of the 2024-2025 season that has been held in the Palace of Festivals
The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, has claimed the “big family” of football in the autonomous community, which every week involves more than 60,000 people around this sport.
This has been pointed out this Thursday in the annual gala organized by the Cantabrian Football Federation and which has gathered more than 3,400 people in the Palace of Festivals, making it the “largest event of this nature in all of Spain”.
Casares has participated in the award ceremony of individual and collective prizes of the 2024-2025 season and has had a memory for the footballer Raúl Ramírez, the 19-year-old goalkeeper of the C.D. Colindres and who died on September 29 after suffering a blow in a match.
The representative of the State has highlighted the work of the Cantabrian Football Federation, its president José Ángel Peláez and the rest of the members of the entity for the “effort, enthusiasm and commitment” to Cantabrian football and that they demonstrate with everything they organize to “make the dream of so many kids a reality”.
At this point, he has praised that the FCF has reached the record of federates, with more than 19,000 licenses processed, and organizes more than 500 weekly matches, involving more than 60,000 people weekly around this sport.
“This entity is the home and home of the dreams of so many young footballers of this land,” said Casares, who also emphasized the values that this sport conveys to children and young people, such as “companionship, respect, improvement and teamwork.”
The government delegate said that the annual FCF awards recognize the “talent” but also “perseverance, humility and sportsmanship” that is shown every weekend in every corner of Cantabria where matches of all categories are played.
“Let us continue to build stronger and more united Cantabrian football together. May our future generations find in this sport the way to achieve their goals, their objectives, but, above all, to enjoy the path, the enthusiasm and passion for sport and football,” he said.
