- The government delegate in Cantabria visited this Wednesday the NetBees Business Center Artificial Intelligence Laboratory located in the industrial estate of Guarnizo
The government delegate in Cantabria, Pedro Casares, has praised the importance of youth technological talent in companies and industries to which “young people can provide innovative business solutions thanks to their training and knowledge of digital tools”.
Casares highlighted this after visiting this Wednesday the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory ‘NetBees Business Center’ located in the industrial estate of Guarnizo, in Astillero, and associated to the factory of Maflow Spain Automotive that manufactures components for the automotive industry.
Accompanied by the CEO of Netbees, Teresa Iglesias, the government delegate met the 12 young students of the University of Cantabria, the European University of the Atlantic and various degrees of Vocational Training who are carrying out their internships or project in this space
During their stay at Netbees, which ranges from three to nine months, these young people develop computer applications that, through Artificial Intelligence, solve production problems or improve business performance, mainly in the areas of technology and marketing.
Casares has experienced first-hand the applications in which some of these young people work, such as one in which AI analyzes all the results of a patient’s medical and laboratory analysis and tests and, in less than 10 minutes, produces a report and predicts possible medical risks.
The young people who are currently working in this AI Laboratory have also presented to the government delegate their developments to generate collective knowledge or to generate content on social networks.
“They face challenges to improve the competitiveness of a company and they work to propose digital solutions to them,” said Casares, who highlighted the work of Netbees together with Maflow to “unite industrial and technological language through knowledge and training of young people.”
He has put in the courage for Netbees to bet on being the “intelligent area of the Guarnizo polygon” and has trusted that, in addition to Maflow, “more companies” from Cantabria will join this initiative to give scholarships to these young people.
Thus, he considered that the industries and companies of Cantabria can, through Netbees, give scholarships to young people so that, during the final period of their training, they can work on developing Artificial Intelligence solutions to solve their business challenges.
The director of this space has trusted that this space can not only promote the AI training of young Cantabrians but also offer intelligent solutions to the real problems of companies and, even, that, from that work, startups can be created.
VISIT TO MAFLOW
On the other hand, the government delegate has also visited the Maflow Spain Automotive factory with its director, Marcos Díaz, and has toured the main manufacturing sections of this plant belonging to the Polish group Boryszew.
With a workforce of almost 200 workers, this Cantabrian factory is since this year the exclusive supplier in Spain of Nissan Motor Corporation of the air conditioning system of the Qashqai model.
The plant, which closed 2024 with a turnover of 17 million euros, also manufactures air-conditioning components for other important companies in the automotive sector and automotive and industrial liquids, and also has a 3D printing laboratory, a leading parts production center in the Boryszew Group and which also produces for third parties.
