Adif advances in the Proximity Plan of Cantabria by awarding a new investment of 5.7 million euros in the C-2 Santander-Cabezón de la Sal line. The planned action will increase the reliability of the infrastructure in Reocín, between the neighborhoods of Caranceja and Golbardo, by adapting and reinforcing a slope over more than 200 m.
The slope will be subject to consolidation tasks, being protected against landslides in an area where the road runs between the rock wall and the Saja River.
The action, which will take place between kilometer points 491/900 and 492/108 of the metric width line linking Santander and Oviedo, will deploy a combination of systems that will improve the overall stability of the slope, such as high-strength galvanized steel cable networks and anchors up to 12 m in length, with dynamic retention barriers and self-cleaning.
These operations will complete similar operations that are currently carried out in the same line, between Casar de Periedo and San Pedro de Rudagüera, in the municipality of Cabezón de la Sal. In this area, Adif invests 1.55 million euros to stabilize some 400 m of trench, between the kilometer points 490/939 and 491/350.
These actions contribute to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9, which has among its goals to develop reliable, sustainable and quality infrastructures.
