The Official State Gazette (BOE) published this Wednesday the tender for the drafting of the project of work of the stretch that will mean the arrival of the high-speed train to Cantabria, specifically the one that will unite Nogales de Pisuerga, in Alar del Rey (Palencia), with the Cantabrian municipality of Reinosa.
Adif AV litifies this section divided into three lots, which total a budget of almost 19 million (18,990,073 euros), once this was authorized last week by the Council of Ministers.
The deadline for receipt of tenders will be open until 22 April at 1.00 p.m. Next, the opening of the envelopes with the economic offers will take place on June 5.
As approved last Tuesday in the Council of Ministers, the stretch between Alar del Rey and Reinosa will consist of 51.4 kilometers and its construction includes the remodeling of the Aguilar de Campoo station.
The project will detail the work to build the platform of the new high-speed route (44.4 km), which will house double standard gauge tracks throughout the route; the access bypass to Aguilar de Campoo (7 km), single track, and the adaptation of the station to high-speed services and the future increase of passengers.
From Reinosa, the train will connect with Santander through the conventional network, renewed and duplicated in some sections. To do this, a track gauge changer will be installed in the surroundings of the Cantabrian municipality of Matamorosa, before the crossing with the Hijar River.
The construction project of this new high-speed route will be structured in three subsections: the first is 14 km between Alar del Rey and Aguilar; the second, comprises 11.5 km between Aguilar and Mataporquera and the baipás of Aguilar (7 km); and the third, 18.9 km between Mataporquera and Reinosa.
This action may be co-financed by the European Union's 'Connecting Europe' Mechanism (CEF), according to the tender notice published in the BOE.
