The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility advances in the construction of the platform of the new high-speed line Palencia – Aguilar de Campoo. The works in progress extend from the north of the city of Palencia to the municipality of Alar del Rey, affecting several roads of the State Road Network in the province of Palencia.
Thus, tomorrow, Tuesday, January 23 from approximately 09:00 a.m., traffic will begin on the A-67 motorway where the traffic to Palencia will be diverted through the national N-611, between the links of Santillana de Campos and Frómista, until the completion of the works in the affected area - corresponding to the Amusco-Osorno section, where Adif AV builds a viaduct for the A-67, under which the railway route will run - whose duration is estimated initially in half a year, at which time traffic will be restored by the A-67 motorway.
The works that are being carried out, contemplate affectations to other roads and sections of the State Road Network in the province, such as the A-65 motorway in the municipality of Palencia and also in the A-67 in the municipal terms of Amusco, Santillana de Campos and Herrera de Pisuerga; as well as to the conventional N-120 roads in Villadiezma and N-611 in Monzón de Campos.
For the execution of the actions on the N-120 and N-611 roads and on the A-65 motorway it will not be necessary to divert traffic, the works will be executed with cuts of lane, allowing the circulation of traffic through said roads with restrictions. These traffic cuts will be reported sufficiently in advance when they occur.
Progress of high-speed works in the Amusco-Osorno stretch
These railway works of the new high-speed line Palencia – Aguilar de Campoo carried out by the Ministry, through Adif AV, are destined for a stretch of 21.9 km in length and whose work began in July 2021, with an investment of 79.3 million euros (VAT included). Its construction is funded by European funds, in particular, the Recovery and Resilience Mechanisms (MRR).
The construction work of the platform was awarded to the Temporary Union of Companies (UTE) composed of Torrescámara and CIA of Works, Constructora San José, and Public Works and Irrigation with an execution time of 40 months.
The route covered by the contract runs through the municipal terms of Amusco, Támara de Campos, Frómista, Marcilla de Campos and Osorno. This route develops the alternative Monzón Oeste of the Informative Study
In this section, the construction of three viaducts and a lower pass stand out as main structures:
- Viaduct on the Arroyo Berco.
- Viaduct on the Castilla Canal.
- Viaduct to save the conventional railway in the p.k. 38/020 of the Palencia-Santander line.
- Lower pass to save the N-611 road and the A-67 motorway.
