The Government delegate in Cantabria, Ainoa Quiñones, highlighted the Civil Guard’s commitment to “bring its services even closer” to the citizens, with “pioneering” initiatives such as the one launched this Friday in Cartes where the first virtual access point to the services of the body of the whole of Spain has been inaugurated.
This has been pointed out today in the inauguration of the totem of that virtual access point, located outside the City of Cartes and next to the office of the Local Police of the municipality. Quiñones has inaugurated this new endowment of the Civil Guard together with the mayor of Cartes, Agustín Molleda, and the colonel of the Area of the Civil Guard of Cantabria, Antonio Orantos.
An event attended by the president of the High Court of Justice of Cantabria, José Luis López del Moral; the general director of the Emergency Service of Cantabria, Samuel Ruiz; the provincial head of Traffic, José Miguel Tolosa; or the delegate of Defense, Emiliano Blanco, as well as other authorities, commanders and agents of the Civil Guard and members of the Municipal Corporation.
The delegate of the Government has praised that, with this Virtual Access Point, “the Civil Guard wants to facilitate access to all the applications and services they have to help and serve citizens.” “Through this Virtual Point of Attention we easily, quickly and intuitively approach the services of the Civil Guard allowing to obtain prior appointments to file complaints or to carry out procedures such as the intervention of weapons and explosives, among others,” he said.
“This project, like other virtual projects of the Civil Guard, is not intended to replace the physical police presence, but, on the contrary, it aims to contribute to the fulfillment of one of the priority lines of action of the Strategic Plan of the Civil Guard 2021-2024, based on modernization, generation of public value and contribution to the demographic challenge, through the creation of a new channel of assistance for complementary citizenship,” said Quiñones.
According to the delegate of the Government, “this is therefore another tool to improve and make as useful and close as possible the attention to the citizens, without in any case supplementing the agents of the Civil Guard, which this Government is committed to increasing as it shows the offer of public employment this year, which has been the most numerous of the last 13 years”.
In addition, Quiñones has highlighted that “it is also not baladí that the first Virtual Point of Attention of the Civil Guard in all of Spain is launched in Cartes, since it has the highest growth of young population in Cantabria”.
For his part, the mayor of Cartes has pointed out that “this terminal carries the DNA and the Cartes brand” and has thanked the Civil Guard and the Government Delegation for choosing the municipality to promote “this pioneering model throughout the country”. “Today begins in Cartes the future of how to connect and how to interact the Civil Guard,” Molleda said.
