The Government Delegation in the Canary Islands makes available to citizens two new Letters of Services, one per province, as informative consultation documents that gather all the procedures that are managed from our seven island headquarters in the Archipelago, both face-to-face and electronically.
The Official State Gazette (BOE) published the two documents on December 25th (Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife) for the period 2024-2027, which can be accessed both from the portal of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory and from the website of the Government Delegation.
These documents integrate for the first time the electronic and face-to-face services offered to citizens in our seven island venues, also grouping them for the first time by province to facilitate consultation in the Canary Islands through two single texts, compared to the previous seven.
“An important work has been done in our seven headquarters, particularly in the General Secretariats of the Delegation of the Government in the Canary Islands and the Subdelegation of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, to update this menu of services we offer in all the islands. With these Letters of Services, citizens can know where to find us and what we offer. All in a single document”, says the government delegate in the Canary Islands, Anselmo Pestana.
The Charters of Services aim to inform citizens about the services provided at the headquarters of the General Administration of the State, facilitating their location and access, as well as about the commitments and quality indicators assumed, which can be improved thanks to the suggestions of users.
The powers of the Government Delegations and Sub-Delegations and their Island Directorates are grouped in the direction and coordination of the General Administration of the State and its Public Agencies in the territory; information of the action of Government and information to the citizens; coordination and collaboration with other Public Administrations; control of the legality of public actions; proposals for improvement in public policies, exercise of the powers of sanction, expropriation and those that are determined, as well as protection of the free exercise of rights and freedoms and guarantee of public security, exercising the leadership of the State Security Forces and Bodies.
Organically, the Government Delegation in the Canary Islands, through its administrative offices in the Archipelago, has the Integrated Functional Areas of Promotion, High Inspection of Education, Industry and Energy, Labour and Immigration (where the Office of Foreigners is located), Agriculture and Fisheries and Health and Social Policy, as well as the Units against Violence against Women and Civil Protection, Registry Assistance Offices and, among others, Sections of Administrative Authorizations and Citizens' Rights and Citizen Security.
The seven headquarters of the integrated services of the General Administration of the State in the Archipelago are the Delegation of the Government in the Canary Islands / Subdelegation of the Government in Las Palmas, on the island of Gran Canaria, the Subdelegation of the Government in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, on the island of Tenerife, and the Island Directorates in Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, La Palma, La Gomera and El Hierro.
