The Government delegate in Asturias, Adriana Lastra, has participated in the inauguration visit of the works of integral rehabilitation of the Citizen Security Building of Oviedo destined to Firefighters and Local Police.

The action, funded through the Public Buildings Rehabilitation Promotion Program (PIREP) for local entities, has had a state investment of 1.85 million euros, 78 percent of the total cost. “An example of institutional cooperation between administrations,” said the government delegate.

The intervention has allowed to modernize more than 11,000 m² of the building, with improvements in energy efficiency, accessibility and sustainability, including ventilated façade, new ventilation systems and LED lighting, photovoltaic installation, roof insulation and recharging points for electric vehicles. These improvements mean energy savings of more than 73 percent.

Oviedo adds 10.8 million euros of investment from the PIREP within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan of the Government of Spain. In the whole of Asturias the investment of the PIREP is 35.16 million euros.
