Huesca.- The Subdelegation of the Government in Huesca has once again hung the LGTBIQ+ flag from its balcony on the occasion of the celebration this Saturday, June 28 of Pride Day. The subdelegate of the Government in Huesca, Carlos Campo, accompanied by representatives of the 28J Association of Huesca, have placed the teaching, to later hold a meeting in which they have addressed aspects related to the prevention and fight against discrimination of the collective.
Campo has affirmed that “the institutions must support Pride to defend the rights of the LGTBIQ+ community; rights that are the result of years of struggle and demand of associations and activists.” In this regard, he recalled that 2025 marks the 20th anniversary of the approval of the so-called Law of Equal Marriage, “a small modification in the Civil Code that has allowed more than 120 couples in our province to live their love fully.”
The deputy delegate regretted that there are still “speeches and attitudes that call these rights into question, and that give rise to both discrimination and physical or verbal aggression, something that has no place in a democratic and open society like ours.”
The Ministry of Equality has reinforced during the summer 028, a telephone (and also an email, 028-online@igualdad.ddev.site), which works 365 days a year and offers care to victims of Lgtbiphobia. The subdelegate has encouraged to use this service if necessary, both to receive specialized support and to make this reality visible.
