During her speech, the Secretary General of Territorial Organization highlighted the work carried out by the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory to improve the service provided to economic operators, especially with organizational improvement measures, such as the creation of the unified border health control agency, operational since 2024, which has allowed to increase the efficiency of health inspection services.
Miryam Álvarez has also stressed the importance of continuing to make progress on new measures that strengthen the competitiveness of Spanish ports, for which the coordinated action of the different competent ministries and public-private collaboration with all actors in the sector is key.
In this regard, he pointed out that the Interministerial Commission for the Official Control of Goods at the Border, established in 2025 on the initiative of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, is the appropriate framework to promote this coordination.
