The Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Arcadi Spain, chaired this morning from Cáceres the first meeting with all the sub-delegates, sub-delegates of the Government and Island directors of the Delegations with the aim of strengthening and improving the provision of public services provided by the General Administration of the State (AGE) in the territory.
Thus, Spain has affirmed that with this unprecedented meeting “we intend to improve our coordination, continue exchanging experiences and strengthen the management of public services provided to citizens by the Public Administration”. In particular, the meeting focused on three areas, as detailed by the Secretary of State: “the improvement of the administrative capacities of the government subdelegations, the increase of their resources with the strengthening of the number of public servants and the impulse of ‘The Administration Near You’ in the territory”.
In this regard, Spain has stressed that ‘La Administración Cerca de Ti’, a service of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory that brings the services of the General State Administration (AGE) closer to the citizens, has attended since its launch in November 2022 to more than 65,000 citizens and has held more than 53,000 sessions.
“Normally we believe that, when someone needs an administrative procedure, they have to go to a physical office, but in many small municipalities with citizenship with mobility difficulties we are facilitating that it is the Administration that approaches these population centers,” said Spain, who has also assured that with this service “we contribute to reduce the digital divide and guarantee equal opportunities.”
