The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, today presented, together with the Commissioner for Dana, Zulima Pérez, and the President of the Post, Pedro Saura, the seal that honors the victims of DANA 2024 with the slogan “With you today, tomorrow and always”.
Correos will issue seventy thousand stamps, with a postal value of 1 euro, included in the Efemérides series, to remember the victims and their families and to value the neighbors, volunteers and organizations that demonstrated a spirit of unity and commitment, working together to overcome the difficulties and support those who needed it most.
For the design of the seal, the image provided by the Special Commissioner for the reconstruction and repair of the damage caused by DANA has been used, which represents how the destruction caused by DANA blooms a branch as a symbol of hope.
Posts during the DANA
The post offices in the areas affected by DANA also suffered serious damage and, despite this, and fulfilling the tasks assigned through Royal Decree-Law 7/2024 of measures to help in the reconstruction and relaunch of the areas affected by DANA, Correos offered a series of services at no cost to the citizens affected. Free postal and parcel shipments were provided in the municipalities of the DANA territory and the Post staff carried out information, intermediation and representation of the affected persons to formalize the applications for the aid available through the offices or in the homes of the affected persons, when necessary.
The newly issued postal effect can be purchased at the Post offices, through Correos Market, by contacting the Philatelic Service in the e-mail atcliente.filatelia@correos.com or by calling 915 197.
