The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, has today attended the events commemorating the 87 years of the air strike of Gernika-Lumo by German and Italian airmen, in the service of the uprisings against the Second Republic.
The minister was “delighted” to be in the Basque town “the same month that Gernika-Lumo is already a Place of Memory”. It is the “first place of Memory according to the law of 2022, with the suggestions and contributions of a whole society that has allowed nine places of Memory in this municipality”.
