The Government of Spain has presented to the Government of the Canary Islands the text prepared after the last Interministerial Immigration Commission for the Proposal for a Law to Amend Organic Law 4/2000, of January 11, on the rights and freedoms of foreigners in Spain and their social integration.
This text focuses on the establishment of a system of distribution of responsibilities between Autonomous Communities for the reception and care of unaccompanied migrant minors arriving in the Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla. Although it is stated that the necessary adaptations may be established by regulation depending on the evolution and expansion of this regime to other territories.
