The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, has visited the IES Las Huesas, in the Gran Canario municipality of Telde, where he has intervened in the Day of Memory events, before the school community of the center.
The minister stressed the importance of Education in the rescue of Democratic Memory and stressed to young people that “they must know the truth, know that in Franco’s regime you could not vote, homosexuals were persecuted, and women could not open a current account or divorce. Truth must not hurt anyone, it is not done against anyone, investigating is not confronting, it is repairing and restoring the Democratic Memory.”
