The Secretary of State for Territorial Policy, Alfredo González, chaired today by videoconference the meeting of the Joint Commission on Transfers General Administration of the State-Autonomous Community of Galicia, which has agreed the transfer of the performance of the Tax on the deposit of waste in landfills, the incineration and the co-incineration of waste with effect from January 1, 2023.
The Joint Transfer Commission, which has not met since 2009, reached this first agreement with Galicia of the last thirteen years, with the transfer to the Xunta of the management of this tax, with which “the Government reaffirms its commitment to permanent dialogue and institutional cooperation with all the autonomous communities,” said Alfredo González.
Consequently, the Government will send to the Cortes Generales the preliminary draft law amending Law 17/2010, the regime for the transfer of taxes from the State to the Autonomous Community of Galicia and establishing the scope and conditions of such transfer.
The representation of the Autonomous Community of Galicia has been headed by the first vice-president and Minister of Economy, Industry and Innovation, Francisco Conde.
