The Minister of Territorial Policy and spokeswoman for the Government, Isabel Rodríguez, lamented today that “the main opposition party has not been able to live up to what our commitment and our responsibility demand. You have to know how to be in the government and know how to be in the opposition. The main opposition party is in breach of the Constitution, it is something dramatic, it is something serious, it is something that raises the alarm of the democratic quality of our country in European forums. We can have partisan fights, but not attack the constitutional text and stop complying with it. I regret it and I claim its validity and its fulfillment.”
Isabel Rodríguez referred to the renewal of constitutional bodies, which has been prevented for several years by the main opposition party, in the talk with the president of the Next Education Forum, Manuel Campo Vidal, on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the first democratic elections of June 15, 1977.
