The Minister of Territorial Policy, Isabel Rodríguez, stressed that Spain is the second longest lived country in the world, only after Japan, “and it is no accident, it is thanks to the efforts of society, administrations, companies, among all of us we have built a country with better services, for example in the health field, where we have fought successfully against the virus, which has taken lives but has put in value our public health.”
Isabel Rodríguez, during the presentation of the “Ranking of territories for the Senior Economy 2021”, recalled the new step taken today with the removal of masks and stressed that the study of the Mapfre Foundation coincides with the approval yesterday of the preliminary project that institutionalizes the evaluation of public policies in the General Administration of the State, “an instrument in which we advance in management, to measure the results and objectives of our policies”.
The minister recalled during her speech the phrase of the paleontologist Juan Luis Arsuaga, ‘before the old man was a sage, now it seems that he hinders’, to stress that “the objective reality of the greater attention that our elders require must never be a burden but a compensation for their dedication to society”.
