Isabel Rodríguez opened the First European Congress for the Demographic Challenge, in San Pedro de los Majarretes, a hamlet in Valencia de Alcántara (Cáceres), together with the President of the Junta de Extremadura, Guillermo Fernández Vara, and recalled that “when the world we knew sank in March 2020, when the blinds were lowered, Spanish society armed itself with strength, some from home, the essentials going out to work, engineers and industrialists manufacturing masks and protective materials, then the vaccines arrived. We have already demonstrated the value of our country with the union, and now we have to address the recovery with the diagnosis and resources.”
