The Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function, Carolina Darias, has responded to an interpellation of the Republican Parliamentary Group, highlighting the two years of normalized relations between the Government of Spain and the Generalitat of Catalonia and the commitment to dialogue expressed by the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.
“This government of progress is firmly and firmly committed to dialogue and negotiation as the basis for its action in its relations with Catalonia.”
The Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Service has defended President Sánchez’s determination by opening the way to understanding and consensus in July 2018, offering a broad framework of collaboration, “commitment to dialogue from the first moment”.
“This government aims to deploy a reunion policy in Catalonia. We came from years of disagreements, of silence, of immobility, of a sterile confrontation, of an internal confrontation between Catalans as well. We came from a bankruptcy of coexistence,” the minister recalled.
