The Minister of Territorial Policy and Public Function, Carolina Darias, has closed the IX Forum of Autonomies, organized by the Observatory of Public Law of the University of Barcelona and held this Thursday, telematically, from the Senate, where she has assured that the Autonomous State, is “a permanent factor of progress”, since it “has actively contributed to the well-being of our citizens and to reduce inequality” and, at the same time, it works as a “formula of recognition of the plurality of our country”, which implies “constant work”.
The minister has also highlighted the increase in the activity of the Conference of Presidents since the declaration of the first state of alarm, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, last March.
Darias recalled how the Conference of Presidents, created on October 28, 2004, had a “profoundly irregular” functioning until March 2020, a date until which it met only six times.
A dynamic that contrasts with the one initiated in March 2020, when the Conference of Presidents has gained “particular prominence”, with up to 16 meetings from then until now.
