During the meeting, the representatives of ASPA conveyed the main concerns of farmers and ranchers affected by the eruption, especially in relation to the financing of pending actions, the implementation of infrastructure for access to farms, irrigation networks and support measures to ensure the economic viability of the farms that continue to be immersed in the recovery process.
The Special Commissioner highlighted the commitment of the Government of Spain to the integral reconstruction of La Palma and recalled that the recovery of the agrarian tissue is a priority within the strategy of economic and social reconstruction of the island. He also stressed the importance of maintaining permanent coordination between the different public administrations and the representative organizations of the sector to advance in solutions that allow the process initiated after the volcanic emergency to be completed.
