Follow-up meeting of the Insurance Compensation Consortium

The follow-up meeting of the Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of La Palma, Héctor Izquierdo, with the Insurance Compensation Consortium, under the Ministry of Economy, has highlighted the decisive role of this institution in the recovery process of the island after the volcanic eruption. The meeting was attended by Mª Flavia Rodríguez-Pone, Director General, and Celedonio Villamayor, Director of Operations, who presented the progress made and the work in progress.

During the session, special emphasis was placed on the good work, agility and professionalism of the Consortium, which have made it possible to effectively channel compensation to those affected. With a contribution amounting to 240 million euros, its action has been a key element to offer stability and economic support to the families and companies affected.

The shared balance confirms that the institutional collaboration and technical capacity of the Consortium have contributed decisively to accelerate the reconstruction of La Palma, consolidating a model of effective intervention in emergency situations and natural disasters.
