GOVERNMENT PROPOSAL 400 M€ FOR TMT LA PALMA

On the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Astrophysical Scientific Institution of the Canary Islands (IAC), the project (Thirty Meter Telescope – TMT) has been presented, which includes a contribution from the Spanish Government of €400M through the Center for Technological Development and Innovation (CDTI) to get its installation in the island of La Palma.

The candidacy was presented after the Governing Council of the Institute of Astrophysics of the Canary Islands (IAC).

Attendance at the event of the Minister of Science and Innovation, Diana Morant, the Minister of Science of the Government of the Canary Islands, Migdalia Machín, director of the IAC, Valentín Martínez Pillet, the Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of the Palm, Héctor Izquierdo Triana, among others.
