The Council of Ministers of March 18, 2025, has authorized the application of the Contingency Fund for a total amount of 7,518,000 €.- of which 3,485,439.09 to address damages caused by the eruption of the Tajogaite volcano (Cumbre Vieja). It should be noted that also at the Council of Ministers of 19-Mar-2024, the application of the Contingency Fund was authorized to address the damages caused by the volcanic eruption on the island of La Palma, in the amount of 1,677,079.50 euros.
With the purpose of financing the extension of credit in the Ministry of the Interior to attend to the granting of aid to local entities, private companies and families and non-profit institutions. The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, 2,578,231.49 for the necessary works of reconstruction or restitution of road infrastructures on the island of La Palma.
In total 6 million, its distribution will be as follows:
- 3.5 million euros destined for the reconstruction of infrastructures and homes affected.
- 2.5 million euros aimed at strengthening security, civil protection and other urgent needs arising from the volcanic emergency.
Commissioner Héctor Izquierdo stressed that "this aid reflects the commitment of the Executive to the recovery of La Palma".
Government, local and regional administrations continue to coordinate the work to activate the arrival of funds.
