The Insurance Consortium in 19 months has responded to 12,600 applications and compensated 230 million, said publicly the director of the Insurance Compensation Consortium, Alejandro Izusquiza in the meeting with the Special Commissioner for the Reconstruction of the island of La Palma, Héctor Izquierdo Triana and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Amparo López, held in Palma to examine the management carried out on the island.
In the 19 months of the eruption, 98% of the applications received have been liquidated, most of which have gone to homes and communities of owners.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Amparo López, said "So far two mortgage moratoria have been applied, the second of which is still in force. There are more than 1,753 applications supported and a suspended mortgage debt balance of more than 87 million euros."
