Correos launches a special edition of stamps on the occasion of the first anniversary of the eruption of the Cumbre Vieja volcano.

At 14:10 hours on 19 September 2021, the eruption began on the island of La Palma, specifically in the area of Cabeza de Vaca, in the municipality of El Paso, after days of intense seismic activity.

The volcanic eruption officially ceased on December 25 and is in a phase of degassing and cooling of lava flows.

During all those three months, the island received the support and attention of the rest of Spain, which turned with the palm trees organizing the shipment of materials, personal belongings and economic resources.

Correos emits a mini sheet with a die that has the shape of the island’s silhouette. In the background, the image of the Old Summit and on the seal, one of those impressive and beautiful moments, despite everything, in which one night any of those three months of hell, the volcano let out from its interior all its strength in the form of fire and lava.
