The Spanish Government Commissioner for the reconstruction of La Palma, Héctor Izquierdo, met for the first time this Monday afternoon, June 20, with the associations and platforms that represent the people affected by the volcano. The meeting was held at the Care Office of the Massieu House, in Los Llanos de Aridane.
“Listen and act” are the keys to recovering La Palma, after the volcanic eruption. In this sense, Héctor Iz has indicated that “the first step will be to listen to those affected and see their needs”, to be able to work for them and lay the foundations for reconstruction.
On June 6, the Minister for the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Félix Bolaños announced the appointment of Héctor Izquierdo, until then Secretary of State for the Treasury, as Commissioner of the Government of Spain for the reconstruction of La Palma. A native of Los Llanos de Aridane, he is already in charge of coordinating this recovery process of the Aridane Valley.
