On April 9, 2025, Royal Decree 265/2025, of April 8, regulating the Council of Democratic Memory and the State Registry of Democratic Memory Entities, was published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).
Among the purposes of the aforementioned regulation is to develop article 57 of Law 20/2022, of October 19, which provides for the creation of Council of Democratic Memory, attached to the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, as Collegiate consultative and participatory body of memorialist entities Spanish, referring to the regulatory development the determination of its composition and operating regime.
In this sense, the second additional provision of Royal Decree 265/2025, of April 8, regulates the procedure by which the first election of the ten vocalías will be carried out on behalf of memorialist entities, through a call for free competition, which will be carried out by resolution of the holder of the Ministry of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory.
In this way, those memorialist entities interested in participating in this first call, must submit your request, along with documents required in call to the Directorate-General for the Promotion of Democratic Memory across General Electronic Registrationpursuant to Article 14.2 of Law 39/2015, of 1 October, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations. To do this, they will have 10 working days as of the publication of the aforementioned call for proposals.
