With this initiative, the Association of European Journalists and the Diario Madrid Foundation, in collaboration with the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, reaffirm their commitment to the defense of press freedom, information quality and critical reflection on the role of the media in society. The exhibition pays tribute to a generation of journalists who contributed to telling — and building — Spanish democracy, and offers the public a unique opportunity to rediscover a key stage in our history through the press.
On the occasion of the exhibition, a catalogue has been published that includes all the exhibited covers, including those that were hijacked by censorship, accompanied by explanatory texts on the historical and editorial context of each one. In addition, the collection of Change16 corresponding to the years 1971-1976 has been digitized.
