The Minister of Territorial Policy and Democratic Memory, Ángel Víctor Torres, has discovered, together with the President of the Principality of Asturias, Adrián Barbón, the plaque of Place of Memory in the birthplace and bust of Rafael del Riego and the monolith to the recognition of Tuña as an exemplary town.
Ángel Víctor Torres and Adrián Barbón have commemorated the Day of Memory of Asturias recalling the sacrifices of the Asturian people in their struggle for the restoration of freedoms at different times in history, “and if there is an Asturian who symbolizes that struggle, it is Rafael del Riego,” said the minister.
The Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, Fernando Martínez, accompanied the minister in the unveiling of the plaque of Place of Memory.
