The Library of the Royal Hospital of Granada hosts the exhibition Banned Books in Francoism and Four Cuban Esqunitas, which can be visited from April 28 to June 30 of this year.
Library of the Royal Hospital, Granada
This exhibition is a small sample of the legacy that the professors Antonio Sánchez Trigueros, who is also the curator of the exhibition, and María José Montes have made to the University Library of Granada.
The exhibition consists of more than one hundred works that for the most part could not be published in Spain, due to the censorship exercised during the dictatorial regime of Francisco Franco. Most of these works were published outside Spain, especially in Argentina and Mexico, a country recognized for its generosity towards the Spaniards who went into exile because of the civil war. This exhibition also claims the memory of censored Spanish and Cuban intellectuals.
The exhibition coincides with the events organized by the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, through the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, in tribute to the Spanish exiles after the civil war.
