At the press conference, which like the exhibition will be held at the National Library, the Secretary of State will be accompanied by José Andrés Torres Mora, president of Acción Cultural Española; Ana Santos Aramburo, director of the National Library, and Ángeles Egido and Jesús Cañete Ochoa, curators of the exhibition.
Following a chronological sequence, the exhibition, organized by the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory through the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, the National Library of Spain and Spanish Cultural Action (AC/E), covers different periods of Azaña’s life: her childhood and youth in Alcalá, her later development in Madrid, and delves into three crucial stages of Spain’s history: the Second Republic, the Civil War and Exile. The exhibition has about two hundred works from both the BNE and other Spanish and foreign institutions.
