The First Vice-President of the Government and Minister of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, Carmen Calvo, closes today, at 8:00 p.m., the Colloquios Azaña cycle, which took place at the Ateneo de Madrid on 18, 23 and 25 November.

The Azaña Colloquiums are part of the events organized by the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Democratic Memory, through the Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the death of Manuel Azaña in exile.
Coinciding with this closing event, in which the vice-president will be accompanied by Juan Armindo, president of the Ateneo de Madrid, the last of the Azaña Colloquiums will take place, on this occasion focused on Azaña and the external projection of Spain and which will begin at 7:00 p.m.
In these colloquiums, a thorough review has been made of important aspects of Azaña’s life, such as his condition as an Athenian, -I became president of this institution- his intellectual facet and his work as a statesman.
These are not the only acts of homage of the one who was the last president of the Second Spanish Republic. The program of activities will be extended until next spring and will include conferences, colloquiums, round tables, exhibitions, concerts, theater, dance, period cinema or readings of his work.
The central focus of the commemorative program will be the exhibition Azaña: intellectual and statesman. Eighty years after his death in exile, the inauguration of which will take place on December 17 at the National Library.
