The Secretary of State for Democratic Memory, Fernando Martínez, will participate next Monday in the presentation of the Galdosiana Days, which will take place at the Guiniguada theater in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

In this presentation will also be the Minister of Education, Culture and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, Manuela de Armas, and the executive president of Acción Cultural Española, José Andrés Torres Mora.
In this event, Luis García Montero, director of the Cervantes Institute, will give the inaugural conference. The event will end with a round table in which the writers Rafael Reig, Antonio Orejudo and Marta Sanz will participate.
These days mark the closing of the centenary commemoration of the death of Benito Pérez Galdós. The conference will take place in a series of multidisciplinary activities, from October 26 to November 11, which will take place, in addition to the Canary Islands, in Madrid and Cantabria, the three significant places in the life of the writer. Round tables, conferences will be held and an exhibition on the Canarian author will be inaugurated at the Cervantes Institute.
Also, on November 11, a gala about Galdós will be held at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
Before attending the presentation of the Galician Days, Fernando Martínez will meet with the Minister of Public Administration, Justice and Security of the Government of the Canary Islands, Julio Pérez, and with several memorialist associations in the Canary Islands. This meeting will explore avenues of cooperation in the field of democratic memory and the Secretary of State will explain the main elements of the Bill on Democratic Memory approved by the Council of Ministers last September.
