It houses an essential documentary heritage for the study of the history of Spanish cinema by preserving the documents produced and received by the institution in the exercise of its activities from its foundation in 1953 to the present day.
In addition, it preserves the documentary funds of other public and private entities:
- NODE file. It includes the film funds of the Spanish News NO-DO, external editions produced for America, Portual and Brazil, periodic magazines in images, with images of sport and cultural news, documentaries and special editions in Black and White and also in color. It also provides textual documentation, such as drafts of scripts, transcriptions, speeches, invoices, technical reports, photographs, etc.
- Official Film School Archives. It contains documentation of great value, such as student files, where we find correspondence, scripts, work orders, script reports, shooting plans, exercises, exams, practice dossiers, administrative material.
- Personal files. Admitted for purchase, donation or comodato, more than 100 are kept, both personal and of producers and distributors.
