F MINISTRY OF THE INTERIOR

Series linked to the study of the republican exile, contains the documentation referring to the referrals of documentation of the different Ministries and the administrations dependent on them. The F1 subseries includes the documentation submitted by the Ministry of the Interior, which is fundamental for the study of this period, (Ministére de l’Intérieur) and the F7, which corresponds to the General Police, General Security and National Security.

-Nominative lists of Spanish refugees in France sent by the Prefectures of the Departments of Reception, Correspondence, Displacement, Repatriation. (1936-1940).

-F7-14.730 Spanish refugees in France due to the civil war and imprisoned in Gurs and the Lower Pyrenees.

These are lists of refugees by department, which include all the concentration or reception camps established at that time by different departments.

-F7-14.736 Surveillance of Spanish refugees: correspondence, lists and individual news of Spanish refugees considered dangerous, interned in the special camp of Collioure, Gurs, Septfonds and Saint Cyprien (1939- 1940), circulars and correspondence relating to the search for Spaniards evaded from the labour camps (1939-1940), etc.

-Documentation of Camille Companys and Jover (probably brother of Luis Companys, president of the Generalitat de Catalunya) who was a refugee in Montpellier around January 1939, (later in Paris from 9 January 1940) and letters from him from January 1939 to the end of May 1940.

-Documentation of the brigadier and writer Gustav Regler, political commissioner in the International Brigades during the war in Spain.

-Personal correspondence (1929-40).

-Various papers and reports from the Franco-Belgian and Polish battalion of the International Brigades (1936-1937)

(It includes a list of “Spanish reds” sent to the German authorities and placement in different factories of Spanish refugees, etc. ).

AJ 72-315 Fiches of Spanish Republicans mobilized in “Compagnies de travailleurs etrangers” (CTE) made prisoners and transferred to concentration camps, usually Mathausen. Individual files of deportees with data of birth, place of deportation, as well as current domicile (1945) on the occasion of the arrest.
